It’s been heavy on wedding photography here lately but that’s not all I do it’s just that summer is high season for weddings so I haven’t had much time for other things. Anyway, some months ago I was in Switzerland and I had the most fun photo shoot ever. It was a bit different than what I normally do but I hope that will change because it was fun fun fun! Elena was just turning thirteen and for her birthday her mum wanted to take her to a portrait photographer and I was lucky enough to be the photographer she chose.
I spoke with some friends and we decided to give Elena a special experience and make her a ”model for a day” with a lifestyle portrait shoot on location. I have to be honest, I don’t normally photograph models so maybe with ”model for a day” I basically refer to the royal treatment we gave Elena.
The day started with make-up and wardrobe and let me tell you, Elena had the wardrobe part covered! She had a bunch of perfect outfits with accessories and we chose two. After a little bit of makeup we packed our bags and headed out.
I was told Elena is a bit of a shy girl but as the camera came up she really transformed and took charge. She was a natural if I ever saw one and she did awesome throughout the shoot. So relaxed and she just kept giving me photos all the time and she made my job super easy.
This was really an amazing shoot and seeing and sharing Elena’s smile and happiness is what it’s all about and it’s one of the main reasons why I love what I do.
Here’s a slideshow showing the day and below some of our favorite photos.
